As a student I have used Microsoft many times throughout high school and in almost every class i have taken in college. I use this program mainly for writing papers to be submitted to my teacher or professor online. I have also used this program in school to create schedules, to write letters of recommendation and for people, etc. There are many ways in which i have used Microsoft word throughout my years in school. Most of my teachers have used this program to correct students papers, to give rubrics for an assignment, also to give an example of a project that we are suppose to be doing.
My experience with copyright and fair use of materials came mostly from me
being in college because of the amount of papers I have had to write. All of my
professors have been really strict about taking credit for someone's work that
is not yours. I also learned that anything I
use and it isn’t mine should be on my works cited page. I had an experience in
a history class where I did not receive credit for a paper that I wrote because
I used some quotes from Wikipedia and other sources and did not cite them, so
my teacher took that as I was plagiarizing. As a teacher I would make it very
clear that if any part of the assignment or paper is not yours and it isn’t cited
then you will automatically drop to a 50%.
If my class is having
implementation issues with the technology I would try to maybe teach them a
different way to use the technology because some kids don’t learn the first
time you teach them somethings. I would also try to sit with the children
specifically and address the issues they would be having with the technology. I
would also send instructions home with them so that maybe their parents can
help them figure out how to use the technology, also communicate with me how I can
better help the student while in class.
