The web 2.0 tool I think is the most useful would probably be Skype because I think it is important for students to feel as if they have help even if they do not have parents who are able to help them. So, with skype I would be able to contact the students in their home environment and help them with any homework issues they might be having or answer any questions they may have. I also think that the voicethread would be useful for my students to be able to hear my lecture and listen to them as many times as they need to. Also with voicethread students will be able to communicate with each other so I think this tool would be great for group projects or to communicate with each other before a test.
I tool I think I would use the most out of all of them would probably be Voice Thread because I think it is the only tool that can be used for more than one thing. It can be used for students to listen to my lectures, it can be used for students to communicate with each other if they have a group project, also students can use this tool to ask me any questions they have but did not want to ask in the classroom. Also, I would be able to verbally critique papers they submit and tell them exactly how to fix them. This tool also says that it helps with the four C’s which is: Communication, Critical thinking, Collaboration, and creativity.
The technology that I would like to see implemented in the future is something called Biometrics which is a machine that can identify the entire biological make up of a child. I think this would be super important for the future of technology because this will help students figure out if they have a learning disability or not. This will intern save children from struggling it will be easier to identify the problem, I think this is important because there are so many students that are not excelling in school because they have a learning disability and they don’t know it. So I think this tool will be useful in helping students identify this trait earlier on so they can deal with it.

As a student I have used Microsoft many times throughout high school and in almost every class i have taken in college. I use this program mainly for writing papers to be submitted to my teacher or professor online. I have also used this program in school to create schedules, to write letters of recommendation and for people, etc. There are many ways in which i have used Microsoft word throughout my years in school. Most of my teachers have used this program to correct students papers, to give rubrics for an assignment, also to give an example of a project that we are suppose to be doing.

My experience with copyright and fair use of materials came mostly from me being in college because of the amount of papers I have had to write. All of my professors have been really strict about taking credit for someone's work that is not yours. I also learned that anything I use and it isn’t mine should be on my works cited page. I had an experience in a history class where I did not receive credit for a paper that I wrote because I used some quotes from Wikipedia and other sources and did not cite them, so my teacher took that as I was plagiarizing. As a teacher I would make it very clear that if any part of the assignment or paper is not yours and it isn’t cited then you will automatically drop to a 50%.

If my class is having implementation issues with the technology I would try to maybe teach them a different way to use the technology because some kids don’t learn the first time you teach them somethings. I would also try to sit with the children specifically and address the issues they would be having with the technology. I would also send instructions home with them so that maybe their parents can help them figure out how to use the technology, also communicate with me how I can better help the student while in class.

I think I would use data collection in multiple ways. For example the professors at FSU like to give their students evaluations to feel out at the end of every semester. So I think I would use the data collection to evaluate how my students thought I taught this semester and also how they ended up doing in the course overall. Also I would like to teach an high school math class so I would use the data collection to compare math scores between classes. I would also use data collection as a grading tool to show my student their progression or digression in the class over he course of a school year.

The most interesting topics I have read thus far on my classmates blogs are the topics related to technology that we have learned about in class and how they have implemented what we have learned in other classes they have. I also like that they explain exactly what they did not know about certain programs such as: power point or excel and explained what the lesson in class has taught them about the program. I know for instance a lot of students have to make power point presentations for their other classes and with the lesson that we did in class they were able to produce a better product then before.

The next technology skill i would like to learn is editing because i am very interested in Photography and videography. So if i could learn the basic skills of importing and exporting footage and then editing clips of certain videos or certain pictures I think I could really put that skill to good use. I would also be able to make shirt films and documentaries. I would be able to achieve this goal by researching editing software that is very user friendly and easy to learn on. Also by watching video tutorials about how to work with the software.

In the past 10 years technology for students with learning disabilities have advanced immensely. For students with ADD, ADHD, OCD, etc. Technology such as audio players and recorders for students who need to listen to their readings and lectures instead of just looking at thee. Also the cushion is the seats that they sit in have  been proven to help students pay better attention to what they are learning. I have friends with ADHD  and they often just listen to their lectures from class instead of writing them because its easier for them to remember and they actually understand what they are being taught.

Making the website was a fun assignment to do because it allowed me to be creative and out some things i have learned in class to use. I did not like the steps I had to take to actually finish the website it was a lot to do but I learned a lot from it and i will definitely be using what i learned from this assignment in the future. Next time i will do the assignment early so i can really customize it the way I want to.

I have learned a lot from from Diigo and i think it makes a lot of things easier especially with school work. I buy a lot of my textbooks online so when I read a lot of the time I forget some of the material that I have read and with Diigo it is easy to to go back and highlight and put a sticky note by the information that is  important. Also when you have a class based solely off of the book and there are big exams like finals and midterms you will be able to go back in the book and know exactly where everything is because it is highlighted. This can be very helpful because most times when I am studying for a major exam I am forced to reread material that I have already read. I will definitely be using Diigo from now on.

A flipped classroom is a pedagogical model in which the typical lecture and homework elements of a course are reversed. Short video lectures are viewed by students at home before the class session, while in class time is devoted to exercises, projects, or discussions. The video lecture is the key to a flipped classroom the video as are selected and sometimes often made by teachers.

The open terms that were mentioned in the pod cast was open education which is all about making educational experiences available to a wide audience. A lot f people still stick to the traditional way and that way does not work for every student. Some students learn differently and wont comprehend the information if its taught in a traditional way. Another one mentioned was open content which is teachers using the internet and its content to help students understand certain things. There are 4 R;s of open content: Reuse, Revise, Remix, and Redistribute. A lot of teachers take advantage of this resource the last thing mentioned was open source which is something that refers to software.

I have been doing power point presentations since the 6th grade all the way up through college. This assignment has taught me a lot of things that I did not about power point. This will make it a lot easier for me to do the presentation in the future. I liked everything about the assignment because I learned a lot of things I never would have known had it been for this assignment.

The Blooms Taxonomy was created in 1956 under the leadership of educational psychologist Dr. Benjamin Bloom in order to promote higher forms of thinking in education such as analyzing and evaluating concepts, processes, procedures, and principles. The several levels of Blooms taxonomy Domains includes: creating, evaluating, analyzing, applying, understanding, and remembering. I would use powerpoint to support creating because theres a lot of things you could create using powerpoint and a lot of creativity that comes from customizing the individual slides and transitions. Evaluating is something you have to do when you create any powerpoint because you have to evaluate the information you have on every slide. Also the same is with analyzing, you must analyzing any information before putting it on the powerpoint because you have to make sure it is accurate and correct. Applying comes when you present a powerpoint because you have to actually explain the information thats on every slide and apply it to whats being taught in class. Powerpoint helps you understand any subject better because it gives you multiple slides to explain one specific subject. I think that powerpoint is one of the easiest ways to remember facts because you can keep going through the slides which is like repetition. So there are many ways in which powerpoint can support Blooms Taxonomy, and also help students remember the information.

This website I found is made for teachers to know what new technology is being developed and what it can be used for. This website also addresses the issues the some students face and what technology can be used to help them.

My prior experience using technology has been difficult because I never formally took a technology class. Since using technology is such a vital part of being a college student especially in this day in age, I had to learn everything basically by teaching by teaching myself and guessing. How ever when I did learn the in's and outs of technology especially the basics it really helped me in school, and I was able to do my school assignments more efficiently. It also can be used as a great study tool when you know how to properly use technology.

What I hope to gain from this class is more clarity about technology and more ways to use it to help me be a better student. I am also interested to learn how early in a child's elementary education do they get introduced to technology and in what ways do they utilize it. Also, what exactly do they get introduced too? because today the earlier you get to know how to work certain types of technology the easier your education will be later down the road. I also would like to learn a sense of time management from this class because we only meet one day out of the week so it gives me a lot of room to procrastinate which a habit that i am actively trying to break.

The questionnaire that i took taught me that  I am pretty well balanced when it comes to my learning style. I will prefer visual sometimes and sometimes i will prefer to hear things. Prior to taking this questionnaire i just considered myself a visual learner but after taking the test i realized that it depends on what I am learning and sometimes I need to use both of them fully understand what i am learning.
